Maui "The Magic Isle"

Maui is the second largest island in the Hawaiian Isles.

Maui has been nicknamed “The Magic Isle” because of the majestic beauty that surrounds this island.

Some of the great sites to see while on your vacation in Maui include:

1) Whalers Village Museum has hundreds of artifacts and photos illustrating the ocean life from the 1800’s.  Humpback whales can be seen around Maui during the winter, a wonderful site that gives tourists a great memory of such enchantment.  You can also enjoy shopping and dining.

2) The city of Lahina is a quaint village full of exciting shops and restaurants for your traveling experience.  While in Lahina, don’t forget to visit the largest Banyan tree in the U.S.  It covers about an acre and stands over 60 feet tall.

3)The Iao Valley State Park was a sacred burial ground for Hawaiian Royalty.  The needle nose mountain is a glorious sight.  You can easily hike to the needle to view the beautiful valley that surrounds it.

4) Maui’s highest peak is Haleakala Crater, an active volcano and rises about 10,000 feet above sea level.  If you want to see a spectacular sunrise, take a drive to Haleakala National Park.

5) Take a stroll, swim or snorkel on “Big Beach”.  This beach is one of the biggest in Maui.  The golden sands spread about 2/3 of a mile and about 100 yards wide.  Take along a picnic and enjoy the relaxation of the waves.

Maui is a beautiful must see island in Hawaii.  So while making your plans to visit the Hawaiian islands, don’t forget to add Maui to your list.
