Trips to Rome should be taken during April and May, and September through October. The month of August has so many tourists that it takes many hours to get through museums and exhibits. City tours can be a good alternative to seeing everything on your own. Most tours have English guides, as well as French and Italian guides. The hotel you are staying at may have these available, but all bus terminals have them, too. Places you do not want to miss while you are in Rome are the following: Pantheon, Colosseum and Roman Forum, and the Vatican Museum. Check to see when the best time is to see these attractions.
